Treat Bicycle Boulevard

This project's goal is to formally configure Treat as a bicycle boulevard linking the already established River Bike Path the Aviation Bike Path. Located below is the proposed plan to use Treat as an artery to connect the Rillito bicycle hub and the Aviation bikeway.

Elevated Bicycle Paths

Imagine if you will, the ability to quickly cycle from one end of Tucson to the other with out the need to stop at major intersections. Though elevating the bike paths we would create in essence a bicycle free way with supporting on and off ramps to facilitate the flow of traffic. In addition to creating quick, safe routes for cyclist, the roof surface would be covered in solar panels to generate sustainable energy for the city of Tucson and Pima County and provide shade for riders.
This is in now way a new concept, but there are very few examples out there and Tucson is in a great position to lead this cutting edge concept.

City Beautification Though Bike Related Art

In this scenario we have come up with an idea to help promote cycling as a means of transportation, as well as enhancing the image of Tucson. We would like to propose the acquisition of creative art strategically placed around the city that creatively represents family, community, and bikes. The art would ideally consist of bronze or similar material in the casting of statues in high visibility areas, in an effort to create a more park like atmosphere. This idea is based on what is already being done in the Rancho Sahuarita community.

The Tucson Bike Alliance (TBA) is a non-profit membership organization promoting all forms of cycling including bicycling as a viable method of transportation. Improving bicycling infrastructure and safety to benefit all types and levels of cyclists. Working with neighborhoods, governments and businesses to redesign Tucson and surrounding municipalities to allow safe,effecient and enjoyable commutes leisure activities shopping and dining. (daily transportation needs)leisure recreational rides or work commutes. We are also dedicated to improving the quality of life of residents of Pima county through cycling centric activities and automobile air pollution reduction. We are dedicated to bringing cycling centric businesses and events to Tucson.
